March scopes-anyone using them on rimfires?

Is anyone using March scopes on rimfire BR rifles? I'm interested in knowing if they'll will focus perfect at 50 yards and be parrallex free. Interested in the 40X version. I don't want any more power than that. Any info, I'd appreciate. You can PM me or email me if you'd like. My email is Owenshous@aol.com
It's never good to get a product review going on open forum, and I understand that. I just don't know anyone who has one of the 40X Marches that shoots rimfire BR.
Thanks.

march Scopes

Kent I have two 40x March scopes that I use exclusively for rimfire shooting. I've Had them for about one year. I've sent them both back to Japan for a brightness, focus problem. They fixed them both and they are clear and bright now. I think they are mostly made for centerfire shooters and not enough attention is given to the 50 yd shooters. However they have a great warranty and are willing to do whatever is necessary to accomodate their customers. In summary I have used most all scopes and in my opinion nothing compares to March scopes.
Hope this helps. Fred

Gene has March Scopes. Maybe for a couple of seasons.
So they are out there. :)

March Indoor?

Anyone seen the Indoor model of the 10X60X52? Focus is from 10 yards to infinity. Seems it would be ideal if just a tad heavy.

Hey Dennis

I tried this scope and it is very impractical. Most benchresters want more than 10 power and less than 60. I recently spoke with March and they have prototypes out that are 35-55x. To me this seems perfect for benchresting. If they make this scope with a 10yd to infinity focus it would work on our pellet guns as well. Hope all is well with you and hope to get to oregon at least once this summer. Fred

Fred, was at there web site and noticed a March 5-32 X 52mm with a 10 yards to infinity focus....Bernie...

Kent, out of all the options you probably want the straight 40x. They are the brightest and will focus. If they came with a proper reticle the 1x10 variable could be the best sporter glass on the planet.

Thanks to all for the info. I appreciate it a lot. I haven't had time to check the thread. Been working on fitting a barrel to one of my 40X's and I sort of lose track of time when I'm doing that.
Tim thanks, yeah the 40X is what I think I'd be interested in if it focused at 50 yards/meters. I don't think I want any more power than that. I don't like a small field of view. Makes me feel closed in.
Joe, will be in touch tomorrw, at a decent hour:)
Thanks to everyone.

I have a 40x and 60x and they are both great. the 40 is a little brighter but the 60 is unreal. On heavy mirage days the 60 is a little more difficult to work with, but the extra magnification, for me, makes it so much easier to aim.

With the 40, you have almost the complete target in you scope picture and the 60 has maybe 4 or 5 bulls in it's picture.

I had thought about selling the 60 until Jody started making mirage tubes for the March's.

This has transformed the 60 from almost unusable to very unsellable.

What is your better reticle choice for .22 rf shooting at 50 meters ?

Hello
On the path of assembling my own equipement for .22 Rf benchrest (preparing my coming soon retired time :) ) I have some doubt and questions...
March Benchrest "classic" reticle proposal is :
- Cross-hair Reticle
- 1/8 dot Reticle
- 1/16 dot Reticle
In my mind 1/16 is a good compromise between any dot and 1/8 perhaps a litlle bit too big for the "one millimeter center" = 10 +1 bonus seen at X50
in the ".22 Hunter" 50 meters shooting

Thank you for your advice.

The factory dot sizes are quoted at 100yds, so they will appear twice as big at half the distance. Thanks, Douglas

How do you figure that? My .5 minute dot spans .25" at 50 yards! The target is twice as big at 50 as it is at 100.

The power is not the only reason why they're used. Also in centerfire, not why they're used. Gene uses the 10x60 with the 30% booster that he sells. That 10 ring must look like a basketball.

March Scopes

Could someone help me find a dealer for these scopes? I have tried to find some but haven't had any luck. My old eyes are getting bad and I need all the help I can get. Thanks :eek::) Mickey

oops! thanks to Kent and my friend Steve, I got it completely bassackwards, at 50yds the dot appears twice as SMALL. Man, I can't remember nothing anymore, information overload. Thanks, Douglas

Hello
Thank you Douglas, Kent, Steve, Wibur for your answers.

It seems there is a good explanation- abstract here on the March Deon web site http://www.deon.co.jp/march/RETICLE.html

So, I tend to think on a short range (50 meters) no dot seems ideal but an 1/16 is probably a good compromise, helping to keep quickely the center cross and avoid to have a too big spot on the target.

But without experience, it is a pure theorical mind construction...

The new coming 36-55 X 52 with 1/16 seems to me the best of the moment for short range RF shooting.
