any one got an opinion about thease new scopes for rimfire benchrest anyone useing them ???

Since it would seem that the variability is there primarily to adjust for mirage in the center fire game What's the advantage for a .22? I'd think, if anything, the 40X might be better if no other reason than avoiding lots more moving parts.

I would be concerned with a parallax of 50 yards to infinity. You may or may not see a clear sight picture. If you were planing to test ammo closer than 50 yards, forget it. The older version 40's were of the same design, but i believe the new 40's will clear up a little better. I believe they modified that part to accommodate the use in rimfire, since they all were originally designed for centerfire shooting.

There are a few using the fixed 40's in rimfire competition. They are a great scope, but will not suggest to someone how to spend their hard earned money.

Take Care,
Joe
