making a headspace gage ???

Your reamer print will have the dimensions.
The print I have for a 7mm Rem mag. lists the belt at .220 (universal for standard belted magnums I believe), and the datum line at 2.1253 @ .42 dia.
If the reamer is properly ground you should be able to just headspace off the belt (on the gauge you make that is).

The standard magnum go gauge is .220" from the front of the belt to the rear of the gauge.
Don't make it any larger as all brass is less than that...

I set them up on a .217 guage. This will allow you to close the bolt on 99% of the cases out there, and really helps them last longer beacuse of less stretching. As for making a guage, it's really easy for magnums since there's no angle to cut.
