My remchester brass is starting to get loose primer pockets and am beginning to think about making some out of some better brass, I have a Neil Jones forming die & use his sizing & seater dies. Great stuff! I'm looking for some brass that will keep tight primer pockets longer. I notice Lapua offers 30-06 brass & Norma & Nosler offer 7x57mm brass. This is a tight neck chambered gun. Which brass would have the hardest head area? Even pushing the shoulder back on a 30-06 & trimming to length for good brass doesn't bother me is this too much of a push back for Lapua cases?

thanks

I shot thatt caliber for years and wore out 4 barrels, RWS 7x57 is the go, tough brass, bit pricey but worth it in the long run.

257r ?

I shoot both a 7x57 and a 7x57R. For my 7x57 I am using Winchester 257 Roberts +P brass necking up. For the 7x57R I am using RWS Brass but not modified. It sounds like you case is not rimless if you want to use 30-06 brass. Norma is another option for 7x57 brass if you can find it. Last but not least: http://www.prvipartizan.com/search_c.php. This is Russian brass made by Prvi Pratizan. I use their 7.5x55 brass for a Tanner match rifle and it is pretty good. It comes annealed and after several reloading my pockets are still tight.
