Maintenance question on repair centers

What adhesive works best for applying the repair centers on F-Class targets. Mostly I've heard "wallpaper paste", but what kind? I bought a gallon of premixed wallpaper paste and it was miserable stuff to apply (thicker than what I've seen before) and let go when it dried. Thanks. - nhk

Normal wallpaper paste is too thick as mixed. Thin it by carefully adding water and mixing (might want to use a power drill accessory for this), actual amount of thinning is less than 25%.

The type of paste matters. Do not get the clay based versions (brownish). What you want is the "white" paste. Be generous in its use, especially on the edges of the repair center.

Both items above assume you are pasting targets to cardboard or canvas - if using Corr-Plast (corrugated plastic), not all wallpaper pastes will work. Some clubs have given up on Corr-Plast targets for this reason.

Application: Use a roller if possible, as they are faster and more uniform. DO NOT use paint roller covers. Special roller covers for adhesives are available, and last longer if properly maintained (i.e., rinse and dry after a match). While more expensive (about $5 each), they are not deal-breakers. See the following links for examples:

Hope this helps.
