Yes, there are no separate contour rules. The lighter contour is used to facilitate making weight, and is not specified in the rules.

Is it NBRSA/IBS legal to use a heavy varmint contour barrel but cut down/shortened for weight in a LV/Sporter 10.5lb rifle? Thanks to all who answer...gpoldblue

Shilen makes a HV contour " well almost HV contour" barrel that they call a hull special for LV rifles. I think the shank is 1.240 close to a HV barrel but it tapers a little different. It looks big and fat but i think 21.5" isnt out of the question and it should finish at around 5.2 pounds. At 5.2 pounds, or there about you shouldnt have any trouble on a LV rifle. I may not be telling this exactly correct, but i think i am pretty close. I had a couple of these barrels last year. Personally i like a little lighter barrel though. That way my rifle isnt so nose heavy. Lee
