Feed it Varget or N550.
There are many good powders out there that will work. For my LTR, I main shoot 168 and 175 SMKs. Therefore, it looks like you are looking for a hunting round. As stated earlier, the prevalent powders of choice for .308 are IMR4064, Varget, and RL-15. I get great results with the following:
- Win brass
- CCI BR2
- SMK 168
- 44.0-45.0 gr of Varget

I did 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and 46gr of IMR 4064 in new Winchester brass with CCI 200. Came out 2913fps from a Douglas-barreled VZ24. I downloaded to 45gr but haven't shot them yet.

I've been running the 165s over 44.5gr. of RL15 seated .010 off the lands with Winchester WLR primers and Winchester Cases for my hunting load. I haven't tried the Varget. This was the first powder I tried in my hunting rifle and it did well so I never went further.
