12 lrpv, right bolt, left port, easy to shuck, and load,,,,,,,, got it in 223, 22-250 and 6br and one built in a 30br custom, yep, i like it,,,,,,,,,,,

David,just curious,do you have any primer cratering with any of your LRPVs? I sent mine back to Savage with severe cratering (pin too small,and/or hole too big.(not a pressure problem.Did it with all factory ammo,etc).I also had a failufe to eject with over half of the cases,and when first set up with my scope(burris two pieces bases and 30mm signature rings w/+/- 0 inserts,it shot 16" low at 55yds.I thought someone had turned the elevation turret all the way down,so ran it to the stops and counted clicks to center,and it shot low(same location).I installed the +/- 10MOA inserts,which gave me about 10" up.A hobby gun builder friend said it was not unusual for the mount etc to be off.I didn't think of it at the time,but have since learned why a rifle builder bluprints a factory action and if necessary squares the action threads to the centerline of the bore.A friend had a LRPV shoot so low at 25 yds,he sent it back and they rebarreled it.I didn't mention that problem and I should have.On mine,with the new bolt head, the primer cratering is 95% better,which I can live with,but the failure to eject problem remains.I'll try the slightly larger detent ball (9/64) under the extractor first.If that doesn't work SSS makes a modified extractor,that will.($10).

never had any problems with cratering unless i was trying to shoot too hot,,,,,no extractor or ejector problems with any of mine either, I do know one person who had problems blowing the extractor out of his 2-3 times, when he reduced his load of N133 back down to around 25 grs it cleared up, he was using a digital scale that had been dropped or bumped and was off over 2.5 grs (was reading low). My 223 has over 3000 rounds thur it, 24.8 grs N-133 and 52 gr Fowler FB Match Bullets, it shot 52 gr Sierra Match just as good too,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I used Leupold rings and base's on the first two (223 & 30BR), but the rest have Talley Rings and Base's, 3 Weaver scopes, 2)T24's, 1)T36 and 1) Burris Black Diamond in 6-24x50 with a 30mm tube,,,,,,,,,,,,

What does the LRPV have over the BVSS that justifies +$300 price? I own a BVSS in 22-250 that has shot pretty tight groups itself - one picture of one five shot group doesn't really say squat(not knocking that group, it is rather nice, but I am sure most can attest to one group not being the whole story).
The stock is quite nice on the BVSS. I prefer the look of the laminated stock over that of a synthetic one. Also, the palm swell just feels right too.

I use right bolt, left port, left eject.(RB,LP. RE) Some use the oposite configuration. I know not of what you speak
