What is the best way to determine the correct lenght of pull. Is it still measured from elbow to finger? Is LOP the the same for offhand and benchbest ? Thanks ....

for hunting

i use elbow to the first joint on the trigger finger for LOP. mine is 13.5 and yes i like my shot guns that length same as my rifles.

The "best" way is entirely yours to gauge, friend. Some guys like longer LOP, some shorter. As always, it depends on you, and the shooting you want to do.

I use different LOP for offhand vs. shooting on the bags. How do I know? Because several of my stocks are adjustable for LOP, and I change them to suit. :D

But don't overthink this sort of thing. How much difference will it really make? David Tubb and shooters of that ilk can tell the difference. Mere mortals might not be able to, but it's definitely one of those questions to ponder. If you want to assemble a rifle that will be used for different shooting pursuits, vs. say specific to BR, then build it with an LOP adjustable stock. If it's going to be single purpose, then build it with a fixed LOP.

How does an adjustable buttplate affect the accuracy node vs. a fixed LOP? (See how this can go?):eek:)chill(
