Looking for load info.

I just finished up a 50# rifle and I am looking for load info. for berger 215's and seirra 240's and reloader 25 powder. Any info will help thank you

Berger 215??????

I'm assuming you mean the 210's. Look for a speed at 2850 for these and 2750 for the 240's. Then persue seating depth issues. start at just touching for the Bergers and jump 10thou for the Sierras.

Is that a 50 pound rifle? Or is that a typo? What cartridge are we talkin here?

Peter

Yes it is. Right powder- R22 perhaps- will get you the 2750 out of the configuration you are giving me.

Yes the rifle wieghs in at 50.4 pounds. I'm sorry I did mean 210 bergers. I'm looking for an amount of powder for a 300 wtby imp. to start with. Thanks

I have a straight 300 wby on a Bat action. Pretty much the same thing. I am shooting uncoated 210 vlds. My first ladder test took me from 74G RL25 up to 85G. That was the limit as far as PSI. I originaly settled on 80 gr at about 3100, but am now down to 74 G at 2880. I am jamming about .020. I am geting single digit ES, and altough my targets look like weather reports:mad: the vertical is mostly taken care of. I also dabbled with retumbo but it did not pan out as good.

Tod- Try backing down that speed a little and adjust the seating depth. One solution to vertical is seating depth. My VLD's start performing at just kissing the lands.

If you have the vertical out the only things to stop a weather report are A. shoot faster and 2. read the wind better. I cant read the wind all that well so I just shoot fast.

Thanks guys. I am just touching the lands with my vld's and I'm using reloader 22, I'm getting in the high .1's and I have 5#s of reloader 25 so I was looking for a load for it.

Like I said ....vertical is pretty well gone. If I slow down a 300 wby any more than 2880 it will be going BACKWARDS. :D The gun definatly likes .020 jam....been everywhere from .030 jump to very hard jam...about .030 in. It also likes a little more neck tension. .330 neck using a .322 bushing. I just need to practice my speed shooting and wind reading skills!!!
