long range shooting ranges

Hello!

Anyone know of any ranges near Long Island that allow shooting greater than 300 yards?

Steve,
You will have to travel quite a distance, most likely, to find a long-range (greater than 600yds) club in your area. I am not completely familiar with all the ranges, but I know that for the guys in CT they have to travel to upstate NY or NH to find a place to shoot beyond 3 or 400yds that isn't a private club/home. You may have some luck looking in NJ as from what I can see the Cumberland range is 600yds. Don't know how close that is to you.
I thought that you were gearing up for the short range game? I figured we were going to see you at one of our matches after the conversations that we have had over the past two years.
Good luck in your search.

Mike,

Still interested in short range.

Just exploring long range.

I didn't make it to CT this past season due to other issues.

Hope to attend some CT matches next season.

A 102 years too late, Creedmoor closed in 1910. :) I just went to Google maps. Wow, Creedmoor was pretty darn close to the City. I believe there is a state hospital where the famous matches were held in the late 1800s.
