long range bullet prep

I am new to long range and I have heard that bullet prep (meplat trimming, bullet pointing, and weight sorting) can be useful to accuracy. I am just wondering what process or method that long range shooters are finding to be the most beneficial. I am currently shooting 108 Bergers in a 6BR 1 in 8.
Thanks,
Jonathan K

Meplat trimming by OAL or ogive
whos trimmer pointer

read through these two threads and see if you still have questions, or are more confused.

the one thing you did'nt ask about, witch is the one thing i would think is first on the "important" list, is bearing surface length comparitors. while i would be telling a lie if i said i did not check weight, i would put it last on that same list.

Mark,

Thanks to you, I now know how to search for more than one word here.

Wish thes bloody sites would be consistent in their search protocols!

seems to me that you may not need to do all that stuff unless you are in serious long range competition .. especially with those particular bullets and 6BR...
