anyone have a picture or REAL specs to compare the lonestar with the one that is coming out later this year, the new one is a better Br ? action but wondering if I should pick up one of the lonestars that is left

but I do not know the differences enough to make an informed decision

The two new action names comming out from Stiller are "Copperhead" and the "Lonestar". I have no specs but as I understand from other posts and photos you will find on the forums the Lonestar is based on the Remington 40x with some minor mods and will be in the form of a repeater. The "Copperhead" has taken good things from other actions (load ramp similar to Anschutz) and a dual firing pin setup (6 O'clock and 12 O'clock) so is unique and has been described as a true BR action.
I have one of each on order, the Lonestart for a light hunter\sporter class rifle and the "Copperhead" for the heavy\unlimited class. I am sure both will be excellent actions as his centrefire actions have been held in high regard.
Just google "Stiller and Copperhead" and you will find plenty of photos and even a clip from a recent shot show with Jerry showing off the new action.

Regards

Dave

Lonestar is a 40X Clone, Myers is a open top version like a swindlehurst and anschutz style loading ramp ,and now will have 12:00 & 6:00 ignition like the Copperhead. The Copperhead which I have one is RB/LP dual fireing pins(12:00 &6:00) with anschutz loadingramp. I would get a Myers or Copperhead, other than being stainless the Lonestar is just a 40X! KSS sells all 3 and all 3 are made by Stiller. I believe KSS has an exclusive on the Myers action. They all are extremely nice no matter if BC will not use one for what ever reason . The copperhead won on its first outdoor ARA shoot with David K at the controls .

Hate to bust your bubble willy but the copperhead didnt win in its first outdoor event as one was shot at the crawfish and didnt win.It shot well but not even close to winning.

Thanks Mike ,we need a large screening device to keep me and Kevin in line and decoded, you may need to modify your nada answer to Zeus because it fails the Truth O Meter test bad ! It was the First ARA event outdoor,my error. Thanks again for the astute observation.

The truth is there is absolutely nothing wrong with mine, if there is something wrong with yours then it is up to you to be forthcoming about it but as for my nada answer it is absolutely truthful and absolutely correct as far as my opinion is concerned.

I have a lone star and like it real well so far, I've shot some 2300s and a 2450 that was real close, and still don't think have it tuned all the way yet, I think gene Davis may have made another killer.

Barrel -

Bob,what barrel did Gene use on your new Stiller ?

Larry it's a 4 groove standard bore lija, 17 twist, just need some confidence in it, I may try it at the va state ara on Sunday.
