I spend most of my time shooting by myself and was thinking of getting out & about a bit next season. My gun is LV & my equipment & reloading are sound. There are a number of quality club matches in my area but nothing truely centered around 100-200 group shooting over flags with ppc's. There is one score match now & then locally i enjoy but i am looking for more. Can't really do weekends away due to the wallet.....Thanks for your input.........Winter Sucks... :p

Best Regards
Rick

Yes it's a club and I never had luck with their site, a friend has the info but he is away hunting. When he gets back I will get you the info...... jim

The sheet from the Club which I have states: The match dates for 2019 are 1/12, 2/9, 3/9 and 4/13. UBR non sanctioned matches using the UBR targets. Matches are 100 yards. 10:00 a.m. practice with match starting at 11:00 a.m. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Unlimited/Benchrest Rifles (17 lb. weight limit). Any scope or caliber. Any questions call Steve Strouse 814-328-2100.

Thank's guys for the info & the contact # and dates....If the weather isn't crap i will surely see you at a few.............

Both Kane & Fairchance are a reasonable day trip for me to participate. I was able to get directions to the sites but have not been able to find scheduling for either site. Is there a place on this site where the matches are listed for the coming year? Do i have to join something to compete or can i just show up, pay the fee & shoot? Can't afford the Super Shoot or get around enough to be concerned about stacking up points to an end but if it is necessary to support an organization to do some matches at these 2 sites i could probably swing it. Thank you all for your patients and your help. I am pretty much a Flintstone when it comes to navigating around the computer. If my questions could be easily answered with a click of the mouse......I plead ignorant..

Regards
Rick

Then you are a step above me with the computer..... You can find Fairchance site easy but I never saw monthly matches, mostly national events or the Hog roast...... Better off shooting long range for a day shoot, 3 IBS clubs in 2 hours and Reade Range less..... jim

Tentative dates for 2019

Hi Rick,

The Hog Roast Match at Fairchance is listed for May 4-5 next year.

The PA Championship match at Kane is listed for August 24-25.

These dates are subject to change. This is what was communicated to the Eastern Region members of the NBRSA by Jack Neary in his most recent email.

They are both well run matches and I try to make both of them. My wife's family is from Pittsburgh, so I drop her off to visit her folks and then head to the range and stay at Uniontown for the weekend.

Rick:

You may want to consider attending a Peeking Groundhog Match at the South Fork Rifle Club located near Johnstown, PA. It is approximately two hours from Pittsburgh. They hold monthly matches starting in the Spring. Their website, southforkrifleclub.homestead.com/home.html gives a good description of the match and directions to the club. You do not have to be a member to shoot a match. Since the longest distance shot during the match is 300 yards a 6PPC is competitive.

Thanks for the help guys. Yeah i'm good to go for the long range stuff and there is some real good local club shooting around the Pgh. area. I am looking real forward to shooting over a field of flags this next season.. I have a nice set of my own but always being a "lone wolf" so to say, i have never sat at line of benches full of ppc shooters shooting over a a lot of flags. It will be nice to meet some new faces and hone my bench manners and wind reading through observation....

Rick,

We are close to each other so I'd certainly like to meet up and shoot with you. Maybe we can learn a thing or two. That's what I'm trying to do anyway. My neighbor also shoots a PPC so that makes three of us. I'll be shooting at Fairchance next Spring and dragging neighbor Dan with me. That's the goal. It will be his first match and I'll be trying I to finish better than I did last year. You should come too if you can manage a weekend.

I am looking forward to getting down there. It's only about 1.5hrs from me all main roads, a bit closer than Kane. I guess the best thing to do is make a call down that way to get the full schedule of matches. Thanks for getting with me on that.....

Well guys I'm rebarreling my Leonard with a Lederer.... and I have a bunch of Barts 68's ...see ya...... lol....jim
