I purchased a new custom .300wm b&c medilast stock, hart 1:10 barrel, blueprinted rem.action jewell trig. throated for 190 smk. Got a couple hundred rounds through her, can't get her to group as it should. could somone explain in detail from bullet selection all the way through how you would work up a load for this rifle? Oh,for 600 & 1000 yds. Thanks for any input,I obviously have forgot or never new how:rolleyes:

why dont you tell us in detail what you are doing , instead of us shooting in the dark.
i went to an 11 twist for 200/210 based on input from this forum.

Mike,
I am sorry, I probably shouldn't have even started this thread as I was very flustrated I actually have two .300 win mags from two diff smiths and I cant get either one of them to group like I want.Anyway say for 1st gun I picked 190 smk for bullet H-4831sc found oal backed off .010 started off with 68.0gr shot one through chrono worked up one grain @ a time untill I found max load backed off one grain then started sooting 3 shot groups played w/seating depth backed off on powder charge a little @ a time.No good. kept w/bullet and changed power again and again ect.ect.ect. then 180 and 200 accubonds then 185 scenars........?

Wayne,

Where are you in the load developement now? How is it grouping and at what yardage? What speed are they moving at? What is the current charge and what primer are you using? And what brass are you using?

Answer all of that and maybe we can get somewhere.

Danny
