LimbSaver recoil pads melting

Sticky, seems to be deteriorating. Gunsmith I know says they stick to the bottom of his vault when he goes to work on customers guns. Told him to not let them sit so long. He also told me to throw it out and use the Decelerator in it's place.
Mine sticks to the bottom of my safe almost right away.
I hear that this is not only happening to me. Thought I got some solvent on it or something and started an irreversable reaction. Anyone come up with a fix?
I smeared some white powdered case lube on it yesterday. Seemed like it helped? Heading for the gun room later to check it out.

I cleaned mine with a citrus based cleaner made by locktite--"odc-free cleaner & degreaser".u can call limbsaver & get them replaced. Call rem too,as there was a recall on them.all they want are the seriel numbers..it might still be in effect..

I'm not sure what's going on that they're breaking down. I don't think it's a common thing or if it is, I've never heard of it. I have 2 and they are fine.

I will say though that I never store my wood stocked guns standing on the stocks. I always have them standing on the barrel, opposite to what most gun cases intend. Of course, that won't solve your trouble, but it's something else to consider.

Call limbsaver, Had one do that to me I thought I got solvent on it , but they told me it was a defect to send it back!

Decelerators won't do that... long guns in long term storage are better stored muzzle down with any pad...
