Some of us have looked into the LASH problems and unstable tracking....
Is the Mark4 having the same problems ?
Is the Mark4 $1695 price worth the difference of $900 for VX3?

I have an 8X25X50 VXIII. Never tried the Mark 4.
My NF 12X42X56 really puts the Loopy to shame for less money than the M4.
NightForce does weigh quite a bit more though if thats an issue.

I guess I have been looking in wrong places today for most 12x Nightforce scopes are over $1800?
12x vers 25x is nightforce better at 1000 yds.????

Actually I was speaking of the Benchrest Series of Nightforce scopes. My variable 12 to 42 power BR scope was $1150 (I think) at D and B Supply. Also known as scopeusout.com I know the price has gone up since. Not sure how much.

At $1800 you must be looking at the NXS series. Probably a better choice for 1000yds as theres more internal adjustment. 1 click = 1/4"
I'm sure theres plenty of BR scopes at the 1000yd line too. I would imagine you would need a .20moa base though. 1 click=1/8"= less internal adjustment.

42X beats 25X all the time;) I've never had enough mirage where I couldn't keep my scope on at least 30X. Usually it stays right at 36X. Mornings I can use 42X but as the day heats up its usually better to crank it down a touch. I don't shoot at 1000yds though.

I bought mine because I couldn't see my .20 cal hits on paper at 300yds on overcast days with my 25X Loopy. Had to drop out of a shoot once because of that. NF= problem solved;)

Just to add.
My Loopy tracks just fine. The lash is there but not really a problem once you get used to it. It did constantly lose focus which drove me nuts. I thought it was me. I slipped a large O-ring over the parrelax knob and let it ride in the groove. Solved that problem.

Bless you, bless you! Why didn't I think of that, particularly as I fitted an O ring to the lock ring on the focus bell because it kept loosening up when I took the threaded Leupold lens cap off.

By the way, I recall reading somewhere that these days the Mark 4 is just a VXIII with butch knobs on it, not a separate build like it used to be.

Thanks for the advise for it is most helpful.

Weight will be a problem for this scope is for AR tube gun...so the loope may have to do...."Darn"as long as loope have been doing this "WHY"can't they it right.

I have a 6x20 setting in box that has made 3 trips to Leupold and still has group movement.Warrenty is meaningless if product can't be fixed right.
