Least expensive variable that equals Weaver T36 in magnification and quality?

I guess the title says it. I am including optical performance and construction in the "quality" analysis.

TIA

Take a look at Mueller 8x36x44.I have 2 and that are clear & hold zero. They are 30mm. and side focus. Amazon $229.00.

Three years ago I faced the same quandary and ended up buying a Nikon EFR with extra fine reticle (3-9x40) for $149,00 on sale at Optics Planet. Right now it's on my Kimber 82G driving tacks with Wolf Match Extra ammo. It holds zero extremely well and I couldn't be happier.

Target scope

Mueller 8.5X36 They are very good scopes for the money. Around $250.00

I think that Tasco World Class 3-9x40 is a really good alternative to T36. it's one of the best Tasco scopes, after all. Although I've found out it's rather hard to mount but once it's done, it's rather simple to use.
