I read part of the calfee article "the good the bad and the ugly of rimfire chambers", sorry i did not get the whole article as 3 pages did not come through in the email. Anyways i was interested in the match chambers and lead and carbon rings developing fairly quickly over time. I guess they form right at the end of the brass case from lead inside the brass and then the powder and cause an accuracy loss. The article i read recommended .001+ clearance at the end of the chamber which is about .225-.2255 to be able to make it through a full target session before this should degrade accuracy. Im wondering if shooting a plated bullet every few rounds(10-20-30?) would clear this ring out or would it would just help clear the barrel if that? I always heard it was better to shoot a plated bullets periodically when normally shooting lead. Im planning an trying a chamber that is .224 at the front of the chamber since i already have a reamer. The reamer is .2242 tapering to .224 with a 2 deg lead ang. and i hoping that i figure out a uniform way to polish the chamber out to .2245-.2242 or so as that should fit the rounds im going to shoot pretty well. The next reamer will be one of yours though. Thanks Rob
