lawton action ?

the ARA give-away gun ( a thing of real beauty) had a Lawton action.

I've heard nothing about this gun or the action...anyone using this action ?

Todd Wooten (1st in 2009 IR 50/50 UL Scoreline) shoots a Lawton when he's not shooting his Suhl. He was the first person I saw that had one. I don't know if he used it on his 249-24X target he shot this year or not. I imagine he's still sittin' at that bench wonderin' what happened

p.s. The Lawton, to my knowledge is a 40X clone. The gun was won by Carl Dean and it was used in a couple matches at Livonia after the ARA Nats. I believe Tanner Hollen shot it at least once and Carl's son at least once.

I talked to Jim Peightal about these for a bit out of curiosity (He did the stock work on the raffle rifle) and apparently Lawton produced only 50 or so before he passed.

It is a 40X copy and I was told they are extremely good actions.
