Lapua continues to support the sport of .22lr bench rest shooting in new and exciting ways. Lapua has agreed to pay any match winner $500 if they are using Lapua X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X ammunition, and $75 to any individual target winner that is using Lapua X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X. Thank you Lapua!!!
 
Pappas J&J Slide plegde more money

James Pappas has agreed to pay $200 to any match winner and $50 to any individual target winner that is using a J&J Slide.

The J&J Slide attaches to the Harrel's tuner. Withouth the tuner, you would have no way of attaching the J&J Slide to the barrel.
 
Dan, these guys keep adding money you may have too make this a three day event. I got aj&j slide and just got off the phone and got some Lapua ammo on the way

George, the slider screws on a Harrell Tuner that is threaded for a weight. There is no other way to put it on the barrel.

Now, if no one wins the match shooting X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X the prize will increase $500 each match until someone does win.

$500 to the Piney Hill match winner if shooting X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X
If the Piney Hill match winner is NOT shooting X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X, then the prize will be $1000 at Kettlefoot. It will increase $500 every match until someone wins a PSL match shooting X-Act, Midas +, or Center-X.

Eley probably figures that they don't have to bribe us into using their ammo. It wasn't their product's reputation that got ruined a couple years back. I'm guessing that they figure just wanting to win is enough incentive. :D:
 
I've been retired from benchrest for about 4 years. However, I have bought Eley from Gene Davis yearly for local matches.
I went to Champion's Choice to look at the Lapua prices and about pee'd my pants. I know CC is higher than other places to buy ammo, but am I reading right that the Lapua X-Act is $43.00 per box or is that the price for two boxes or 100 rounds?
Is it any better than Eley to command such a high price for even one box of X-Act for $21.50 for one box or 50 rounds?

They always price theirs for 100 per box. Charlie Scott has it posted for $19 + per box of 50 over in the classifieds.

Dale, here is another way to look at it. Say no one has won a PSL match with Lapua by the time the Waco match is held. First place using Lapua would be worth $3800.00. Is that worth using the $20.00 abox ammo?

Jack Harper, had one box left after testing, and shot it at a night shoot at Dietzville. I shot the bench next to him and listened to him B**** the whole target, because it wasn't taking out the dot. I thought his was just kidding me untill I saw the target. Cost the club $100.

Gentlemen:We are sold out of X-Act at present. The demand has been greater than Lapua can produce. However,Many shooters are finding the Center-X and the Midas + to be verry competive. We have made these offors to the shooters in hopes of furthering the PSL format. These offors are in good faith and we hope to give this money to someone bold enough to go against the current herd. We have more ammo on order and hope our current inventories will hold untill the new shippment is received.
 
I can afford the $20.00 a box ammo, $2K for a case, but I won't buy it. I will just keep shooting our local gun club matches and using SK.
I can still shoot like I used to. I still have all my equipment, I even have a new Gene Davis 40X, but it doesn't sound like fun to me anymore because of the money required to compete. I may start shooting centerfire BR again.
