I am going to build a 300wsm for 1000yd shooting and would like to know what contour and twist and length I need to order for a 13.5lb gun, will use a stiller viper ss action,jewell trigger,muzzel brake,nightforce scope and stock will be decided when weight is known for all parts.
 
Why only 13.5-lbs?

1000 yard Light-Gun rules are 17-lbs. Heavy-Gun has NO weight limit.

A 13.5-lb gun in 300WSM will be a handful to manage from a bench for 1000-BR. You will need a very short barrel in a LT taper on a lightweight fiberglass stock with light weight rings, mounts and scope to keep under 13.5-lbs.
Bare in mind:........ "Recoil" is a killer to a good tracking BR gun.

Trust me you will need a muzzlebreak and with that nightforce scope along with the 30" LV barrel you will be coming in around 16.10 lbs. With the muzzlebreak you have the feel of a .243 , without you will be testing that rubber o-ring on the scope.....But I love my 300wsm for 600yards.....
