Anyone have one? Are they any good? I know they are cheap, but so were Honda's at one time. I know they are from China. But, then China just purchased Hummer and Volvo........
Shooting buddy got a Konus 20-60x100 a couple of years back on sale from Optics Planet. Good.....hum..... He certainly got his at a good price. I have a much small Nikon Sky and Earth 15-45x60 that I was using while we were shooting at 300 yds. We were trying to see 22 cal holes. I could make them out 2 bullets in a hole, but he could not even with higher power. The clarity just was poor. There is a lot of distorition out the edges of the glass.
Kind of like looking through a good set of binoculars. You think your $100 Bushnells are great until you make the mistake of looking in a set of Zeiss, Leica, or Swarovski. Nothing looks quite right after that.
You get what you pay for. I sometimes you just don't need a $1000-2000 spotter.
Yes.
And you get what you pay for.
.22 holes at 200y. No problem. http://www.champchoice.com/prod-KONUS_20_60x_BY_80mm_SPOTTING_SCOPE-3406.aspx
A guy at my club had one. He shoots High Power matches. He has a Kowa. Similar size. Both were set up next to each other. Could not tell the difference. He wanted to have an extra scope. So he could keep them set up for each type of shooting.
It was a Pt. Cloudy day.
Champion's Choice had them for $200 at Camp Perry 2008.
I have one and am completly satisfied with it but understand, I dont think anybody is saying it will match the really good ones, I was looking for what I call entry level and thats what I got. If I pursue the game, after I have the best rifle I can get, the best scope and the best rest then I may think about upgrading the spotting scope, till then my Konus is just fine
