I Have a Kodiak Model 158 deluxe 30-06 and my question is, Can I put this gun into a Mouser 98 stock? Better yet is this gun compatible with the Mauser 98? If not where should I be looking? I read that it was factory built on a F.N 400 action.

Well, "yes"..... and "no" ....... and "maybe."

Most of these were built on an action commonly called "The FN Mauser" (NOT "the effin' Mauser," that appellation came later) which can be loosely described as "A commercially produced action on the Mauser design" as opposed to "military Mausers" which came in all sorts and shapes and sizes. Technically "FN Mauser" stands for Fabrique Nationale but who's counting.....They're kinda' standardized..... at least the feetprints and holes-spacing are similar. Yours is most'en likely a "FN Mauser 400."

But maybe not.

I'd call it a safe bet that your gun will take a "98 stock"

Like a 90% bet.

The action of your rifle(as I noted from a picture) is an FN 300 as denoted by the M98 style shroud/safety. The FN 400 had a streamlined shroud with a side safety. The action screws are spaced as the M98 so you shouldn't have much trouble fitting it into a M98 stock.
