Kimber Montana?

Kimber Montana Accuracy

My sons .270 shot 1." groups with Winchester factory ammo out of the box.

With hand loads it shoots sub .5 groups.

He harvested 6 deer the first 4 days out with it.

Thanks

I have a Winchester Model 70 SS Featherweight .30-06 new in the box, that I am going to sell and get the Kimber Montana.

The truth about Kimbers

My advice is to hang on to the Winchester. Bought a new 84m in 308 Win and it was a heap of junk with lousy accuracy and just about every concieveable thing wrong with it. Traded it on a CZ 550 for about half the price of a Kimber and have never looked back.

Kimber service

I just called Kimber customer service to ask a few questions such as: Is the recoil lug part of the action? Does the action have a round or flat bottom? The person I spoke with first told me that they knew there was a recoil in the stock someplace. I told this person I would call back. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this is the way they conduct business..................well then.........good grief!

For the kind of money the want for one of those rifles, I have heard too many stories of poor accuracy to ever consider one. I saw one in the ranck at Gander Mtn and it was next to a Stevens 200 and they looked the same, LOL!

Kimber needs to stick to 1911's.

84M in 243

I've got an 84M in .243 and it shoots .6xx MOA on a regular basis. That was with quite a bit of load development. I'd encourage you to look at a Cooper rifle if you can afford the little bit extra cost over a Kimber.
