I just bought one of these from Champion Shooters. Doe anyone know the amount of torque that should be applied to the action screws. This is just as it came from Champion Shooters, so it has not been custom bedded.

Thanks,

Ed

torque

If you want to use the factory torque it is in newton meters which is 5Nm for wood and 6 Nm for alum stocks.

I know about the 5NM for the original wood stock, but this new stock from Kelbly is made from fiberglass I think, so the original torque settings may be to high.

I have the same stock and installed it at 40 in/lbs. I got the advice from the Anschutz section at Rimfire Central and there was a consensus on this. No problems.

Stocks

I've been reading about those stocks and am thinking of buying one. Could you let me know your likes and dislikes about it and how it shoots. Want to put a 1907 in it.
Thanks Larry

I bought a Kelbly BR stock to go with my 1907 barreled action. It mates up very well and I haven't given a thought to bedding it. It seems to be made of polyurethane and fiberglass and I can't decide if it was painted or if it's the color of the bonding material. A lot of fiberglass shows through. I currently have the stock over at the auto body shop being painted to match my Jeep. I think it's an accurate stock and I like the way the trigger guard is flat on back so I can pinch the trigger. It is a very light stock if you're trying to meet weight limitations. You'll like the 1907 and I dropped the trigger pull on mine down to 2 oz.

Here's a picture of my Kelbly stock fitted with an 1807 action and a 1411 barrel. The action fitted like a glove and sits nicely on the two aluminium pillars. I used 5Nm and the rifle shot very well, even without a tuner to help make the 10.5lb weight limit (you won't have this problem with the lighter 1907)
