Over 600 shooters descended in to Kane, PA, via cars, trucks, Taxi, boats and planes....... to attend this year’s most anticipated and revered NBRSA Eastern Region Pennsylvania State BR Championship (and... pie eating contest) at the Kane Fish and Game Club last weekend.
You cannot help but have a great time at the annual Kane Pennsylvania State BR Championship match! As in years past, the Kane match attracts hundreds of shooters from around the world for a great time (even from Canada), which earns it as the largest attended Group match in the NBRSA Eastern Region each year!
Would like thank everyone for coming and supporting this great match!
However, before the start of our festivities and match recap, it’s very important we take time to pray for our Kane friends whom we lost this past year…
Bud Welsh was a constant perennial “Kaner”, whom we lost this past winter in his brave battle with cancer.
Bob Kenderdine, the “gentle giant” passed away very suddenly one week after last year’s Kane match. In his memory, his friends from the Genesee Rod and Gun Club created aplaque to be presented to the shooter whom would finish in 7th place in this year’s 2-Gun, which is where Bob finished last year. This year’s Bob Kenderdine award winner would be Mark Engle. Bartlein Barrels also proudly donated a barrel in Bob’s memory to Mark. Well done, everyone!
Lastly, we all noticed the great absence of Ed Hanes this year as we registered this year.... Ed patiently waiting to sign us each up and graciously answered our numerous questions and flag sharing requests, never with a single complaint. Always with a warm smile and a laugh! Quite sadly, Ed suffered a stroke late last year and is still recovering in a nursing home. Please keep Ed’s intentions and recovery in all your daily prayers….
