I have an older Kahles variable thats developed some debris inside visable at the higher settings. I emailed Gamo in Florida, their new US rep and never got an answer. I emailed Kahles in Austria and they responded with an estimate of 161 Euro's plus postage to just clean it. Postage is at least $50 each way to Austria. If my math is correct thats a total of $220 bucks to clean it up. They advertise "Fair and honest customer relations is our goal". Is this what they mean ? Has anyone had any experience with them ?? Compared to Leupold, this is rediculous. Thanks.

Try calling Gamo many companies are not real interested in email correspondence unless you are talking buying something that brings in a good bit of money. But you probably are not going to like what they have to say anyhow they will probably either want a good amount of money or say they don't work on your model.

Frankly Leupold stands way above many scope manufacturers when it comes to their Warranty procedures.

A couple of years ago I ran into some problems with a kahles purchased back in 1991. I forgot the contact info but could possibly look it up. After explaining how many years since purchase, I was told to mail it to them with an explanation describing the reason for the return. About a month later I received the scope with a note stating the scope was brought up to current standards with a laundry list of replaced parts. All this at no charge.

Similar happenings with an older leupold. I found some parallax had developed in a VXlll. Factory repaired this one at NC as well. I believe this is more the norm rather than an exception or maybe I've just been lucky.

Bob, thanks for the info. If you can locate that contact for the Kahles repair and send it, I wolud be very thankfull. Leupold I'm familiar with. Any time a problem developed they repaired at no charge. I have a number of Leupies on different rifles and cannot complain about them or Leupold service. If all manufacture's stood behind their goods as does Leupold, we'ed be liveing in a better world.
Hope you can locate the contact.

I'll drop her a line and let you know what happens. Thanks for the info.

JB I've sent you an email re the scope. Thanks for the response.

Re Nancy Markarian, she hasn't responded as of yet. JB responded with an estimate of $100 which I guess isn't too bad. I finally rcvd a response from Gamo, The Kahles US rep. They suggested I send it to them and they would forward to Kahles in Austria who would clean it up for $241 plus whatever it cost to return to me. Thats quite a bit for an older scope. I decided to take matters into my own hands. Was able to remove the ocular and clean off it's interior. Put it back together and she's clear as a bell. Total repair time was 5 minutes. Live and learn. We should all buy Leupold's.
