we all know that reloading is the only way in center fire. So I put this to you i think that there is rimfire being reloaded you cant buy what you need but you can take it apart and then you can make it all the same if you can make a press to set them all the same and a skilled man can do it . what do you think?
 
What I think....
With the match ammo Eley and Lapua both are now making you'd do more harm tinkering with it than good. Spend the time testing to find a batch your rifle likes and just buy it and shoot it. Rimfire ammo is probably the best it a has ever been, and the scores bear that out.
If it makes you feel better to weigh and sort it, rim gauge it, do it. But, I doubt you'll notice any difference at the target.
 
I do remember, many years ago, hearing something along those lines. pulling the pills and inserting others. do not remember outcome. probably silk purse from sows ear.

I haven't read all the rules for all the sanctioned meets but some require factory ammo untouched out of the box.... bit i don't know if ammo is ever checked or not. joe:)
