June 28th AGBR match cancelled at Salem

Due to a family obligation that popped up after I set up our schedule, the June 28th AGBR match at Salem is cancelled. As a matter of fact, I will be deciding within the next day or two whether or not to cancel the entire season at Salem. We have three shooters here at Salem, each one shooting a different class. Sure, it's nice that everyone wins at every match, but it's been six months since the last update to the AGBR website, and without knowing how we're doing against everyone else, it's not really worth my time to run the matches here. We might do some fun matches instead (we talked about IR50/50 targets at 50 yards and mini-sniping today at our Rimfire match).

I'll let everyone know what I decide to do.

Todd, I feel the same. Basically we are just having a few show up, I have personally lost interest. There is a lot of money spent so we will start shooting again just for the fun of it. I'm going to put 2 of my rifles up for sale and keep just the one.

Take Care,
Joe

Joe!!!

You can't just make a post like that and not say what rifles you are thinking of selling!!

Todd

You forgot to add you will still come and shoot at Holbrook when time permits.

I agree the main site has been on autopilot too long and we need some help in getting the word out to attrack more people. I wonder if adding a entry type low dollar class using a single type of rifle wouldn't help.

It wouldn't matter if we add another class when we can't find out when other clubs are holding matches or even if there are other clubs that were even thinking of starting to take up shooting airgun. I spent alot of time and money setting up my gun to compete and I would like to see my progress and try to plan my time to make arrangements to travel to matches. If the problem is internet access, I have a broadband connection and my evenings are usually free. I want to compete because it is a fun hobby but I would like to see some support.

thanks,
Fred

Norm,
I have a 22 cal. Rapid from AZ, there are 2 magazines and a LW barrel, the only thing is the fore end has been modified for a 3" channel plate. I'm asking 1600.00. The other rifle is a USFT FT #43, I've only put 15 rds through this rifle and have not put any time into it. Comes with 2 barrels and some extra's asking 1500.00 for it.

Fred, I feel for the guys who spent money on equipment. I also feel sad about the money and time that was put into this site to get it started. As of now, it is what it is. It's going to take someone who has the interest in buying the domain from Gary and the passion to follow through.

Joe

Joe,
I thought maybe I was being too much of a hard-a%&, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the way I do. I'm keeping my Rapid because I shoot it against the rimfire guys in our winter offhand league (50 yards scoped, 1" X ring, 2" ten ring, and the Rapid WILL run with the rimfires) and we'll do some fun shoots here until either something changes with AGBR or we find another organization to shoot.

And, yes, Norm, I'll see you guys at Holbrook a couple of times this summer and I'll be at most of the winter indoor matches as long as Paul runs them. If it hadn't been for you, Doug and the other more experienced Airgunners helping out us newbies, I'd have lost interest a long time ago.

Fred, see you tomorrow. Bring the Suhl, too. I'll try to remember to bring some more of the SK ammo. Maybe we can get you tuned a little better after we have some fun with the Airguns.

Todd

Todd,
I had planned to shoot AGBR with you on TUE but my Doctors appointment got changed to 3:30 so wouldn't make the shoot. My luck you will have 2-5 MPH winds not the 30-40 MPH winds like my last shoot at Salem.
Joe I sent you an email.

Holbrook, MA will continue to shoot Airgun Benchrest both inside and outside. It doesn't matter to me on which target. I do like shooting for score.

I have been Happy with getting a lot of new shooters and hope they keep shooting. I even enjoy being beaten with my own gun.

Paul

Paul,
Anytime you want to come over to shoot Airgun on a scheduled date (except for June 28th), I'll be there. I paid $20 to sanction the club, and I've got $37 worth of targets to shoot. It'll probably be just you and me shooting UL, Fred shooting Springer, and maybe Dan shooting Match class, but we'll have fun anyway!
