I think your "all rifles must have a working manual safety" rule will kill your custom and unlimited classes.

Mr. 22

As Keith23 posted the safety rule for 10.5 and 13.5 will not play. All the 10.5 and 13.5 rifles I have seen don't have working safeties.

There is no Unlimited class for BR50-50. The classes are sporter, 10.5, 13.5.

As stated, these are USBR matches. From their rules at http://usbr.benchrest.net/rules.htm I quote:

B. Classifications

All firearms must have a safe, manually and mechanically operated firing mechanism. Electric triggers and cable releases will not be allowed, except in unlimited class.

We have had no problems in the matches we have had in the past two years with these rules. They apply to everyone.

Your quote is quite clear, you ust have a mechanical trigger. It says nothing about a saftey.

Safe firing system and safety are two different things, safeties are not on 10 1/2lb. or UNL guns.

I have read your reference and fail to see any reference to a working safety. Your reference was about the trigger I think.
I have 2 turbos and a 40X, all custom BR guns and none have a safety.

I stand corrected and have modified my original post. I'm reading safety and thinking trigger. Sorry for the mix-up.

Fred,
IR50/50 does have a strictly Unlimited division and has had for quite some time. Was that the BR5050 you were talking about? There seems to be a miscommunication out there that IR50/50 does not have a UL class.
Take care.
