Jewell trigger question

Can the springs be changed on a BR model to get more weight of pull? I have had the HVR model, but never a BR model. Thanks for any input.

I can't answer your question, but I would have thought that someone would've answered this post. I too have the HVR's, and I like them set at 8 ounces on my target/groundhog rifles. When I build a 13.5 lb target rifle, I obviously don't want a safety, so I want to go with the BR series Jewell, and would like to know if I can get it adjusted to 8 ounces.

The BR triggers cannot be resprung, unless they've changed their minds very recently.:)(
Good shooting.

AJ's son can answer your question at (512) 353-2999. He's running the shop in San Marcos. Art :)

Thanks to all that replied. From looking at the adjustment procedures that I have, it looks like the internal parts are definitley different. So I don't think it can be adjusted heavier.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in responding. The simple answer is that the HVR springs will fit the BR trigger shoe [at least for one of the BR triggers I have]. I just finished trying the "B" spring from one of my HBRs in one of my BRs and that particular combo gave an adjustment range of 2.2 to 14.9 oz pull weight.

Although the BR so equipped behaved normally at all settings and was tolerant of bolt slams, I would not suggest that any rifle equipped with a BR trigger be used for other than a bench rifle on stable bench and rests.

The Jewell BR trigger is intended for very light pull weight and bench rest use and should not be used for any other activities and particularly not any where in the rifle would be moved "loaded and cocked".

Yes....

I installed a BR model trigger in my Rem heavy barrel varmint rifle and put the strongest spring in it. Worked fine with no mal functions, and without a safety makes for a good excuse for not lending the rifle out.
