The best thing is to send the trigger back to Jewell. If the breakage was caused by a blanked primer, it may have more than just that one part damaged. Jewell considers damage caused by a blanked primer to be abuse, so be prepared to pay for the repairs if it was caused by a blanked primer. The cases with larger capacity than the 6 BR that use small rifle primers seem to be the worst offenders on blanking primers. 6 Dasher, BRX and that size or larger cases.

its on the way back to them, i bought another to have as a spare also, on the range trip prior to this one when it broke i did have a couple failure to fire rounds, so this could cause damage to the trigger?? its a 6.5 x 47 .....

ok, i really need to know how a blanked primer can cause a trigger part to break??

A blanked primer is the "technical" or correct name for a pierced primer. The cartridge fires with too high pressure resulting in a hole in the primer. Gas shoots out the hole in the primer, blowing the small disk that came out of the primer back through the firing pin hole. The gas then blows the cocking piece back farther than it should and then the firing pin spring drives the cocking piece forward hitting the top bar on the trigger. You might get by with it once, twice or more times, but more than likely it's going to break something in the trigger eventually. The cocking piece driving forward has the same effect as hitting the trigger with a small hammer. I've seen the top bar and a few other of the levers inside Jewell trigger break all caused by blanked primers.

thanks mike , i didnt notice any pierced primers , i did notice a couple rounds i tried with reloader 17 had a bit more felt recoil than others i had fired..

Could be that it just broke. Blanked primers have been the problem with every broken Jewell trigger that I've had come into my shop. I've only seen a handful of them, though.
