JB Weld for bedding

What is the drawback using JB Weld for bedding? How would it compare with other common bedding compounds in term of shrinkage?

i do not know.
i have used it on small jobs , like gluing in small pillars.
big pillars (3/4" dia) i still use bedding compound.
i still like bisonite but it is really hard to get.
brownells is my fall back

JB works GREAT, Nez, I prefer the "steel" version.;)RG

Randy,

Thank you for the input.

I just bedded a 300WM with the receiver used by Mike Bryant when he gave me lessons on truing receivers. I used JB in this project. So far the rifle with M24/M40 contour barrel with AAC brake/suppressor adapter shoots ok, we'll see how the bedding would last.

Retired,

Thank you for the input.

I had a couple of M14 types done up by military armorers using bisonite, bedding appears to be tough material.
