Jason,

Congratulations on owning the best. James Pappas has thought of everything with his rest. Now you must customize your rest to fit your style.

I push in the side that is held out with the spring to set the rifle in. It you think the spring is putting too much pressure on the forearm of your rifle, you can cut off he spring to make it lighter or go to the hardware store and find a lighter spring. I have done both and I like it better now. Call James and talk to him, that is what he is there for.

James makes more than one design front head. The one he supplied me does not have springs. and there are cordura covered rubber discs on bottom and sides. On that design, you adjust the sides in to just barely contact the sides of the stock with absolutely minimal pressure.

Great purchase Jason!

Jason,

Unless James has made a change you should be able to back off the large side adjustment and may need to back off the allen screw with the spring tension to get what you need.

One thing you might double check is, mine at one point the spring was in a bind and actually bound in the internal threads and adjusting the allen screw made no difference on the spring tension. Once I pulled the bottom delron piece out, pulled the spring and put it back in carefully I have never had a problem with that again. I think I did it when I orignally pulled that little delrin piece on the floor out.

Talk to James if you still have issues.

As Concho Bill said, congratulations on owning the best.

Jason,

You do know you can’t use a one piece rest in most rimfire BR matches down here.

Jason,

While a one piece is okay in RBA unlimited, there are not that many RBA matches. There’s not enough of any one type of match around here, so most of us shoot a lot more smallbore and SSAA BR matches and you can’t use a one piece rest in those. But if you want to concentrate on RBA that’s fine, there is match at Warwick Qld next week and I’m going.
