J&j slider

I did something I have never done before; I purchased a large supply of Eley ammo from Dan Killough without even testing it and I was pleasantly surprised that it is some of the best shooting ammo I have ever had. The first 8 shots went into one hole. The next 4 opened up the hole slightly but all were well within the 100 ring with white all around. The speed was listed as 1055 but my chronograph averaged it at 1039 fps. I recently purchased a J&J slider from James Pappas and this is the first day I've had with decent conditions to test it. Since I had my chronograph already set up I decided to see if what James told me about the Slider altering the velocity was true. Sure enough shooting two lots of ammo in the same gun with and without the slider resulted in a 20 fps drop in velocity with the Slider attached. Why this happens, I haven't a clue. Maybe James can chime in and offer some enlightenment.

Does your slider cause your barrel to viberate? I have an Anschutz 1097 that I have one on and it makes my barrel viberate really bad. I pulled it off and replaced it with the same amount of weight and no viberations.

Now that you mention it I did notice a lot of vibration after the shot went off. It didn't seem to affect the accuracy though. It might be a factor if I could reload and shoot fast enough.

I shot my 52D today with a J & J Slider, and notice no vibration at all. This is a brand new Shilen Ratchet smithed by Bill Myers. The first time I shot this barrel, was last Saturday at Waco, and barely agged 1700, again 4 different lots of Eley, no J & J Slider. I used it as set up by James. Never had to adjust my Harrell tuner either. I shot 6 different lots of Eley, some new and some several years old. Only one lot mistreated me, and that also could be blamed on missing some conditions. Todays agg, over 2000. They may not work for every gun, but it sure did help my 52D.

The problem with my slider is me. For al these years that I've been shooting I've always been reluctant to raise my head off of the stock and shoot that way. My barrel may have been viberating all this time and me not know it but I removed the slide and it stop doing what it was doing.
the rifle is a factory barreled 1907 Anschutz with what they call a BR model. As I told James Pappas when he e-mailed me telling me if "I wasn't happy with it to send it back" that I thought that the problem was in the "tuner" "ME" and that I wasn't sending it back and that I would recommend to anyone that if they want to win they better get one.
I guess I'm trying to say I'm not much of a tuner but I do enjoy shooting.
Keep up the good work James and THANKS for al you have done for this sport.
