Thurman Eugene Finniff
Thurman Eugene Finniff, age 78, went to be with the Lord, May 29, 2009 at his home. He was born February 17, 1931 in Marks, PA to Oscar and Bertha (Garland) Finniff. He was married to Helen Shaffer on December 27th, 1959. Thurman was self employed as a home builder. He attended St. Thomas United Methodist Church, and was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsman Club and was president of the groundhog shoot, and a life time member of Chambersburg Rod & Gun Club. Thurman was also a member of the St. Thomas American Legion post 612. He was an avid hunter and gun collector and won many trophies and awards at shooting matches. Thurman is survived by his wife of 50 years Helen and two sons, Mark & Michael (husband of Chrystal) and daughter Barbara Bricker (wife of Ken). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Brian, Amy, Samantha, Tiffany, Jeanna, Cory, Bridget, Hali and Blake, and two great grandchildren; Carolina & Kayden. Thurman is also survived by two sisters: Peggy Shatzer & Joan Smith. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday, June 1, 2009 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa, with the Rev. Harold Yeager officiating. Friends may call at 6-8 pm, Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., St. Thomas, PA. Interment will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery.
