It begins

were you the fellow that bought the used calfree rifle in the classifieds,

Jeff

Jeff, I believe that Bill Calfee is one of the very best gunsmiths of our time. However, I refuse to own a rifle built by him. This new project will be built by Gordon Eck using a new action and a very very special tube screwed to it. :)

edgerat, Don't keep us in suspense. What action and what barrel?

PS your old 2013 is shooting great.

Oh you have come back for more I see

Oh, hello Tuna.

Scott, glad to hear the 2013 is still working great for you! I really think that is one of the "good" factory Anschutz barrels. As for the barrel and action, the barrel will be made in the State that calls Milk its official beverage. The action is a much bigger secret, at this time, I am not allowed to say. It is VERY exciting, for me.

I live in that state. And I too am into a project that Gordon is going to smith for me. I will be using that same barrel.

Hooter's v1 has now sold. Time for operation GB JR. to begin!

Issac,Did you ever shoot the Tenn Vols rifle with the tiddy owl in a match? You need to pounce on one those from Borden, there may not be any out there on the Left coast, they are a dedicated following and none of them post very much, a good name for you next rifle would be" DeCalf "- coffee colored with that orange paint lettering that Tuna has in stock! Team Eck on the butt instead of the owl.

Sure did Bill. 248-242-245-247 in a two-day State match. The 242 was my fault, I didn't clean my gun between cards. The 248 was good for 4th place out of 25 in 10.5 on the first day and I did all that without my own flags so, I had to learn someone else's flags AND remember everything else! :) Pretty pleased with that performance.

I understand now, I bought the austrailian lacewood stock from Eck a couple of years ago for the sako, nice stock, and had a great chat about sporters and firing pins with Gordon,

I also will not own a calfee gun although I had a chance form Jim Williams, as Calfee was too busy to build a gun for an unknown from Canada 6 years ago, his loss I guess

Missed out on that Calfee on this website for a friend(that is what I thought you meant about a lifetime opportunity--sorry I missed the boat on that one)

I thought i might run into you at tacoma washington when I am there for the cneterire BR shoots in the last year or 2 but no such luck

good luck with your project let us know the details as you progress
