Is Ohaus still in business?

Sent my Navigator scale to Ohaus a month ago for possible repair. Have tried to call them for the last two days to get status and no one is answering the phones. Did they get buried in snow or are on vacation? Anybody know anything?

Maybe Ohaus just can't keep up with both the national and international amount of business generated by all the drug dealers buying scales.

Finally got through to a human yesterday afternoon after at least 8 attempts. Everyone I talked to was a woman with a strong Hispanic accent including the "tech" who told me my Navigator was not repairable. :( She said they'd send it back. When I sent it in, I could still use it to weigh things heavier than about 15 grn. A check weight was reported accurately. Just can't calibrate. We'll see if anything works after two trips at the hands of UPS.

Check with Scott Parker, sparker, at the Accurate Shooter forum (6mmBR). He rebuilds/services scales and may be of help.

Wonder what's happening at Ohaus? Have they been outsourced?

Ohaus has I think mergerd with another company. Ran across it today but can't remember what the name is now. Might do a goole on it and find out. I think all their stuff in built in China now. Shame..................

Something I just ran across.

"As mentioned above in the OHAUS section, Mettler has been expanding their market share by purchasing other companies. Mettler's key competitor is Sartorius. It seems that Mettler and Sartorius have been trying to "one up" each other with new competing models and going tit-for-tat in the way of purchasing additional scale companies. For example, When Mettler purchased Ohaus, Sartorius responded by purchasing Acculab. This type of competition is often good for consumers because the two companies often become engaged in price wars and capacity wars which leads to a greater value product for consumers".
