I will be having a double 3 gun match on 9/17/2011. The first match will begin at 9:00 AM and the second will follow, of course. I will open the gate at 7:30 AM. I just came from the range and the road looks great, and the grass has just been mowed. The weather has cooled too, so bring a jacket:)
I hope to see all the usual suspects for what should be a great day for shooting.

Thanks to all who came out to shoot yesterday! We had one first time shooter in rimfire, and a couple of others shooting for their second time in a match. It's great to see some new people taking up the game. I think all of them will be shooting top scores very soon.

Ernie Jenderko, thanks for the help in scoring targets. Ernie is having severe back pain, to the point that he could not shoot in the match, but he still came and scored targets and did all he could to help. Ernie, I appreciate it a lot, and I'm sure all the rest did as well.
Thanks also to Wallace Putnam as well for the PC work and doing a great job! The work you do is sincerely appreciated.

We had 3 men shoot their first 250's yesterday! Congrats to Blake Daniels, Johnny Orfield, and Jim Jones. Well done. The conditions weren't as easy as the scores would seem to indicate for yesterday's match. It was cool, winds were squirrelly, and gusting and changing directions frequently. I call 'em hunt and peck conditions, and it takes patience to deal with.
In spite of all that, I counted 17-250's were shot!

Mr. Bill Pippin, congrats on your great shooting, and your 3-gun agg win in the AM match! I nicknamed Bill "Smokin" Bill after his shooting yesterday. Great shooting my friend!

Dennis Drake, congrats on your 749 agg in the afternoon match, super shooting!
Between you and Mr. Pippin, sure makes it tough to win a target:) Both of you guys have had a great year.

Sorry for the long winded post, but the match was a great one, and I think everyone had a good time. We'll do it again next month!

Great shooting with that sporter...what action are you using? Didn't see Mr. Pepper's name there..is he OK?

Phil,
thanks. The action on that particular sporter rifle is the Falcon prototype, 6 oclock firing pin setup, and I like it a LOT. It'll get it done. The rifle weighs
barely over 7 lbs with a 6.5-20X40 Leupold scope on it. It also has a prototype Don Stith stock made from redwood. My grandson Devin shot a 249 with it yesterday morning and missed one shot by a few thousandths of an inch. He was happy because that's his best sporter score so far. I was proud of him to say the least.

I think Jim Pepper is fine, as far as I know. I was expecting Truman and him, but something must have kept them away. They probably decided to let up on us a bit:)
