Match 3 and 4 results are on Iowa’s web site www.iowa1000ydbenchrest.com from Saturday’s matches. These were probably one of the toughest if not the toughest matches to shot in since we started in Iowa. We had a combination of a tail wind at the benches plus a cross wind down range with wind gusts running 20 mph to 30+mph. All shooters DQ’d at least once.

We had a couple of note worthy items, obviously there were no screamers, but we may have set a new Club record for the lowest score to win a LG match, that honor went to Joe Thielen with a score of 18 in the morning Match. Of course I was trying to beat him for that honor in the afternoon match when I shot a 22 and won score for LG, but Joe still holds the honors. Then there was Al Forbes LG group relay win with a 9.276 inch group and a score of zero, so much for his 3 inch aggregate in LG and Les Benson is the only Heavy gun shooter left that can possibly get a 10 match aggregate. Both Al and Les's Dashers are working quite well. And then there was Jim Bauer who shot the best group of the day in Light Gun, 6.031 with his 6 BR

Congratulations to all winners and to all shooters who kept all 5 or 10 shots on paper, relay and match winners are as follows: - sorry but this month you will just have to go to the web site to see actual groups and scores.

Match 3, Relay LG Group winners, Al Forbes, Lee Fischer and Score winners K Hershberger, Joe Thielen, Match winners Group Al Forbes, Score Joe Thielen. HG relay winners Group Les Benson, Lee Fischer and Score Jim Bauer, Joe Thielen. Match winners Group Lee Fischer, Score Joe Thielen. Varmint Gun winners, Group Al Forbes and Score Doug Shafer.

Match 4 relay winners LG Group Jim Bauer, Edward Nazy and Score Al Forbes, Lee Fischer. Match winners Group none, Score Lee Fischer. HG Group Joe Thielen, Gerry Nordmann and Score Al Forbes, Les Benson. There were no Match winners. Varmint Gun winners Group Al Forbes and Score Doug Shafer.

Thanks again to all the shooters who came out in the rain Friday and stuck around in the wind storm on Saturday to shoot. The next match at Iowa is our State Championships on June 13th and then July 11th. You only have two dates left to come out and tune up for the IBS 1000yd National Championships that will be held on September 3, 4, and 5. with practice on September 2 at the Iowa Club. We will have a preregistration form on the Iowa web page in about 1 week.

Thanks Lee

Thanks for posting the results, and telling the world of our heroic efforts to
get at least one target with out a DQ. :D The winners were the ones that
were lucky enough to get all their shots on paper.
However, Al getting a 9.276" group and Zero score, with a 6 Dasher,
was pretty amazing. My standing behind him and blocking the wind is
what helped Al. :D It was a pretty wild day. I knew it wasn't going to be fun
when I saw some one running 100 yds. down range to get their canopy at
7:30 in the morning !!!

Sounds like I missed a good time. LOL. I know the weather has been great every time I shot at Iowa, and the weather sucked (and blew) every time I shot at Harris.

Wish I could have been there just the same. Congrats to all of the winners!!!
