GRRC Club History
The Gopher Rifle & Revolver Club was organized in the early Forties. The club relocated to its current location in 1970 near Harris, MN which could accommodate a 1,000 yard rifle range, and this initial plot has grown to its current size of 342 acres. Conservation and range development are on-going programs and many thousands of cubic yards of earth have been rearranged while preserving much of the areas’ original condition.

On the property, we have a multi-purpose range with backstops at 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters; a shotgun trap range and a separate sporting clays tower; a 25 and 50 yard pistol range; a Blackpowder range with targets set at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards and a Highpower range with target pits and 20 carriers with the firing lines currently at 100, 200, 300, 600, 800, 900 and 1,000 yards. The remainder of the property is about 100 acres of woods, 50 acres of swamps and ponds and another 50 acres’ of grassy fields which include a picnic and camping area. The range is open to members 365 days a year but the general public is only allowed access for the scheduled matches. Visit our web site at http://www.grrc.org/

Next steps are for GRRC to get the signup process completed and available along with the specifics for the cost. I’ll be posting additional information here when it becomes available.

2010 IBS Nats

Mike. Thanks for the travel and motel info - very helpful. Do you have
covered cleaning tables or should we bring our own canopys etc ? You
say the pits will be staffed so we don't have to do pit duty ? :D
How close can we park to the firing line?
Thanks for having the Nats at your club -
it's a big job for any club to take on.:) Gerry

Parking information

Hi Gerry,
The amount of work this is going to take has set in up here in MN:eek: we have a great group of people who will be working hard to make this happen!

Yes, we're planning to have staffed pits so participants will not be required to work the pits at the Nationals. The details here are not complete at this time, but regardless there won't be mandatory pit duty.

The GRRC 1K firing line is very close to the parking area, the level parking area is directly adjacent to the 1000 yard line. The firing line is a concrete slab with concrete benches on top of a berm. The berm can be walked up or there 2 sets of steps and a ramp for handicap access.

We are planning to have cleaning tables (and I believe to have them covered) it's an IBS requirement for Nationals, but there should also be room for canopies.

Hope that helps,
Mike
