How would I go about putting a weight system in a McMillan stock. It is an old round bottom stock & is hollow. It has a plastic but plate which appears to be glue on. I am considering changing it from a 6PPC to a 30BR, or selling the gun. It already has a 30 bolt face. russell m

I am sure some of the guys here will chime in and give you some info as there is some really good fellas on this site. Another thing you may want to do is try searching this subject. I have asked or requested this discussion a couple different times over the past couple years so there will be some good reading. good luck, and i hope you get it figured out!! Lee

How much weight do you want to add?
Here's how I do it:

For a hollow stock there will have to be a little filler added to hold the weight tube in place, then bolt in the desired amount of weight. You can take weights out if you want to shoot it as LV again.

Alternately, pour lead shot in the but until you get near the weight you want and then pour epoxy resin on top of the shot. Fairly permanent but very cheap and easy.
