What pellet will be used? ... Or will the shooters pellets be used? How close to 12fpe and 20fpe can one be? My rig shoots different fpe with different pellets.

Also how close to weight can one be? I have two different scales and one says I'm just under and the other says I'm just a little over (1/4 oz.) 10.5 for my LV rig... I'm working on getting it way under, just to be safe.. but I'm wondering if this is necessary.

I was gonna bring a hack saw and just keep cutting off my barrel until I make weight:)

Pellets

I think chris said all guns will be tested with the HN 10.6

Thanks Bob...

I got it short enough now:) I weigh in at 10.25 lbs for sure now. I was bouncing around at 10.5 before on different scales.... just kidding... I re-did the rear of the stock.

There is a standardized pellet in each of 3 calibers, .177, .20 and .22. The is a pre-determined velocity in FPS that will make your rifle legal in that rifle class.

.177 caliber, H&N 10.65 grain http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/H_N_Ba..._Nose_500ct/20

.20 caliber, H&N 13.27 grain http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/H_N_Ba..._Nose_200ct/17

.22 caliber, H&N 21.14 grain http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/H_N_Ba..._Nose_200ct/21

The average of a 5 shot group will determine fpe power level for each of the 2 air rifle classes.

Air Rifle Power Check Procedure
Air Rifle power to be checked before the match so there should be a suitable chronograph system available at each event. Common Handler & Natermann sport pellets or similar to be used. A sequence of 5 shot to be measured by a chronograph. As “effective power” will be considered the speed media value (converted in joule) noticed by the tool. Air Cylinders to be filled at maximum charge before test.

Note: J = • m Vo2 Where m is expressed in Kg, Vo speed in meters per second.

To verify the real power of the 16.27 Joules (12 ft/lbs) or 27.12 Joules (20 ft/lbs) maximum Air Rifles a;

.177 Match Pellet of 4.50mm in diameter and 10.65 grain in weight must be used
= max velocity of 712.50 and energy of 12 ft lbs
= max velocity of 919.55 and energy of 20 ft lbs

.20 Match Pellet of 5.00mm in diameter and 13.27 grain in weight must be used
= max velocity of 638.20 and energy of 12 ft lbs
= max velocity of 823.77 and energy of 20 ft lbs

.22 Match Pellet of 5.51mm in diameter and 21.14 grain in weight must be used
= max velocity of 505.55 and energy of 12 ft lbs
= max velocity of 652.70 and energy of 20 ft lbs

cris,
Thanks, that helps a lot! I'll make sure I'm well under with that pellet too.
