In my quest to personally experience everything that can go wrong-

I now get to add shooting with the barrel finger tight. I won't waste your time with some BS explanation why I can't be bothered to torque a barrel. The match started with mediocre shooting followed by flyers increasing in frequency and magnitude. By relay 7 (of 10) it was obvious that something was very badly wrong and I was checking scope mounts, bedding and running the adjustments on my NF scope all the way U-D & L-R. I don't know why I grabbed the barrel and twisted to find that it easily rotated.

The really fun part is that I'm having a new rifle built. Before the match a fellow shooter agreed to buy the rifle after I get the new one. And there I was spraying bullets all over everything. The horror----

Then again, I heard of a Canadian Plama shooter in England some years ago who swapped out barrels with a flick of the wrists - no vyce, no wrench.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I will say though, the problem is easier to diagnose with a rail gun. There I was, working the bolt, when the action rotated 45-degrees to the left . . .

Was shooting a Very acc 308 a few yrs back @ 200 yds, was really kinda amazed how it was doing. Then all at once it was shooting in the 5s, and I mean 5 inchs. I had just mounted a new 36 Leuie, forgot to tigten the ring caps, nice burrs down the tube,a wonder the scope didnt "fly-off", please dont tell my Daughter
