I've been reading most of this site for a few years,but have never heard of a bedding jig,forwant of a better name?Am i thinking in a worthwhile direction?

That looks like a stock holder type jigger,for inlet machining.I'm talking about lining the action barrel for epoxy bedding??after this step.
Thanks was good thing but not the same as what i'm thinking of.

I think I understand what you mean, a jig to hold the barrel and action in alignment with the stock(?). I'm not aware of anything like that, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

The gunsmith suppliers sell a plastic block that can be attached to the Remington 700 (or clone) action in place of the trigger during bedding to keep that area open. As far as aligning the barrel in the barrel channel, you can wrap electrical tape around the barrel to get the barrel in postion or use a flexible material for a shim and then secure the action and barrel into the stock with surgical tubing or more electrical tape.
