I am not an expert on ballistics and have never loaded or reloaded my own ammo, but I bought some ballistics software called, shoot, to help me sight in my rifles better and possibly learn more about my ammo.

It requires me to enter in some info about the ammo, that I have no idea about.

Below is a list of the ammo I need info on. I have tried checking the internet, but no two sites give the same info on the ammo.

Here is the list of ammo:

Wolf 22 Long Rifle Match Target Solid Round Nose

Federal 22 Long Rifle High Velocity Copper-Plated HP(Value Pack)

Winchester 22 Long Rifle Plated HP(333 Rounds Pack)

Remington Golden Bullet 22 Long Rifle Plated HP(Bulk Pack)

Here is the info I need for each one:

Ballistic Coefficient

Case Type

Primer Type

Powder Type

Powder Charge(grains)

I hope I am not being a bother and I hope you can help me.

Thank You.

rimfire ammo

You have listed 4 different kinds.
The velocity is different
The wolf should be between 1050 and 1080 fps. Probably your best ammo for accuracy
The three others are basic rimfire high velocity hunting ammo.
They range from 1080 up to well over 11oo fps, They also have less quality control in most cases. It's plinking or hunting ammo.
Not what you would shoot in a rimfire match.
I do have to say once in a while you get an exceptional lot of these that shoot pretty well. I would stay with the wolf.

Michael, I suspect that you're software is designed primarily for centerfire, it is probably going to limit your .22 results since you will have issues with data entry such as priming and powder which is not offered by companies.

Michael:

For a Ballistic Co-efficent, you can use .162 and be pretty close.. Velocity will vary from brand to brand.. I have chronographed some of the ammo you mentioned, but the velocity will vary due to barrel length and manufacturer. It will even vary from lot number to lot number. Until you can chronograph some of the ammo in your own rifle, you will have to use the factory claimed velocity.. As far as case, powder, powder grain and primer goes, what I do is just put in "Factory Load"..

Hope this helps..
