Before entering the discussion "do not build an HV-rifle, LV is the way to go" I have a LV-rifle but I am just going through the fields of a true HV rifle as well. Or at least see what stock to use for this. But what is the there out there at the moment that can be said to be a true HV-stock and not and LV-with a weight system of some kind?

Any hints or tips to point me in the right direction would be very much appretiated. I have no rush doing this meaning I have time to wait for the right item to use.

Terry Leonard makes beautiful benchrest stocks. For the HV instad of figured redwood he uses highly figured Walnut. I'll bet you will not find a stock that is made truer for tracking than a Leonard either.

As you can see upandcoming: Terry can be the answer again.
It's great to have his Redwood and wy not next one a Walnut ;)

With a heavy BAT on the top of course :)

I as well as one of Mr. Leonard's fine works of art, I mean stocks, and I have a 2 pound weight that I like to place in the butt for HV. Any more weight seems to make it a little too rear heavy but that weight does it make it more fun to shoot. Just a thought

Aren´t you broke yet?:D

It I had the choice, I would go with a heavy Leonard, made out of walnut, or some other heavy wood. I would prefer to have the ability to switch barrels between my light and heavy, and still have a good balance with both guns. Much easier for us that way...

Darn Jerry, hoping you'd be there. I'll let Beth know you said hi. She's always tickled that people remember her.

Oh...sorry about getting off thread. There maybe another option out there concerning wood stocks.....anyone remember Bob Metric??? I last talked to him a couple of years ago at the supershoot. He said he would make a couple a year.

Where can I find contact details for Terry Leonard? I have searched for a web page without any success.
Shop number is 423-323-9327. He usually doean't come in till about 10AM. Early morning is when he does some of the finishing work on the wood, at home. (and late night-at home also).
