How to Determine Age of Leupold Scopes

When I spoke with Leupold Custom Service yesterday, I was told alpha character immediately prior to serial number is designator for production year.

Alpha character A is production year 1966, with alpha character changing as production year changes.

After alpha character Z for 1992, I wasn't told what was used.

Does any body out there know?

bob they don't use some letters,so look at the other posters list

That PDF is much more accurate than the way we did it in the old days, cut the scope in half and count the rings.
