How tall are the benches at the range?

My stool only goes down so far, and on a shorter bench, I'm sitting too high.. anyone know the height of the concrete BR benches?.. I might have to cut a little off the legs of my stool.

You have a typical drummer's throne as used by many BR shooters. The benches are said to be well made and designed for normal benchrest shooting. Its very unlikely the bences are so low you can't use your stool as-is. I sure HOPE they don't have ultra-low benches, as it would be more tiring even with a low enough seat!

I DON'T HAVE A "TYPICAL" drummers throne... mine is top of the line:)... and tooo tall:) It goes way up.. but not way low...
As you know, I've been shooting at a few different ranges, and I find that the benches vary a lot! Only the taller benches work with my stool, unless I raise my front rest a lot and stack leather shims under my rear bag... I don't like doing that, I'd rather take a little off the ends of the legs of my stool.. if I have to before the match...

Take it apart and look at how its made ... seems the central shaft or something can be shortened or sumthin more readily rather than cutting each leg? Top a the line stuff an it doesnt adjust good?

By coincidence, I was yardsaling today and bought a real nice drummer's throne for $10.00! It seemed a little low, but I pulled the crossbolt, slid it up some to a new hole an now its good(for my bench at least).

How old are You guys, are You going to sit while shooting????
If it is in the rules, please tell us from "the other side" maybe we can steal a couple of stools from the airplane.

One has to be over 85 to qualify for the USA Air gun team.
Only those over 80 get to use stools.

I'm sure we can find some big rocks for you older guys from the other side.. and under side ... and especially for those over the top.
If you tell the stewardess what you'll be doing, or better still show her your big guns... I'm sure she will follow you to the meet and get down on her hands and knees and let you sit on her... butt the rock would be more solid .. on the other hand... I'm thinking of kneeling, so I can pray each shot into the X ring.

I once had a friend that was extremely short. He found it positive, less chance to be hit by an airplane. Guess he was right, but then, he was killed by an lawnmower:D
